Healthy Eating Break/Lunch Update22 September 2021 (by Tricia Douglas (admin)) |
Dear Parent/Guardian, I want to thank parents/guardians who have been supportive of the changes in our approach to Healthy Eating. However, some parents have raised some questions that I am happy to clarify
- If your child has medical/dietry needs, then please inform your child's teacher. I do not want to complicate further the diets of pupils who have medical concerns.
- Listening to some parents, some have asked if milk or diluted juice could be included for break or lunch, put simply yes this is ok. Fizzy or carbonated drinks are not permitted.
- Teachers have been asked that any incentives they had used to promote good behaviour or work can no longer include giving sugary foods/sweets to pupils.
I would ask that all parents/guaridans support the "Spirit" of what this change in the Healthy Eating policy aims to do.
I shall include the school's Healthy Eating policy in a parentmail later this week.
Mr J McDaid (Principal)
