Literacy

P1 are practising reading and writing their tricky words. They worked with a friend and enjoyed going on a word hunt around our school. They had to copy the key words and and read it to their partner.

During literacy, the children were beginning to sound out CVC words. In play, the children had the opportunity to look at a CVC picture and try to identify the middle sound.

P1 are practising writing their letters. They used paint stampers and brushes to write their own letters. 

In P1, we read Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. The children identified rhyming words and sequenced the order of animals on the broom. We then went outdoors and created brooms out of natural materials.
