NICIE celebrates their newest patron Oliver Jeffries

Last Thursday Miss McClenaghan's class had a brilliant opportunity to become part of a book reading session at Grove showcasing the work of Oliver Jeffers, a brilliant illustrator and book author as well as past pupil of Hazelwood College. We have been fortunate to be one of the schools who, via NICIE, received a book pack from Harper Collins Children’s Books containing some copies of Oliver's books. P6s enjoyed a reading session of Oliver's books delivered by their teacher, and by their fellow pupil Killian and then were given an opportunity to browse the library's own book collections.

At Hazelwood Primary, we are delighted that Oliver Jeffers has expressed his support for integrated education by becoming one of NICIE patrons, an inspiring group of individuals including Sir Kenneth Branagh, Dame Mary Peters, Carl Frampton MBE, Patrick Kielty, Connor Phillips and Holly Hamilton.
